For babies, infants & children
From 6 months onwards, For your child’s health can support digestive health and immunity. Research shows that having good probiotic levels helps to support digestion, immunity and energy for infants and children, in particular:

Formula-fed babies
Babies, infants & children during and after antibiotics
Infants delivered by Caesarean section
Premature infants
Babies and children with digestive problems such as colic, diarrhoea, constipation and lactose intolerance
Babies & children with allergies and skin irritations such as eczema
Children given antibiotics may develop an imbalance of good and bad bacteria in the intestines, as antibiotics deplete normal levels of probiotic bacteria. An imbalance in the gut can manifest in the form of allergies and digestive problems in children, such as diarrhoea or constipation. Supplementing your child’s natural healthy bacteria can contribute to their overall health and wellbeing.

Probiotics and prebiotics can support a healthy immune system in infants & children: A healthy balance of probiotics in the intestines is thought to provide specific enzymes needed in the digestion of particular substances, production of B complex vitamins and vitamin K, and improves the absorption of minerals and nutrients in the diet, such as calcium, essential for young children.

OptiBac Probiotics For your child’s health is a natural supplement, and is completely free from sugars, artificial flavours & colourings which can be found in other childrens probiotics. At OptiBac we specialise in probiotics, and only use strains of the highest quality, with extensive research behind them.

How does For your child’s health work?
The types of probiotic that naturally reside in an infant’s or child’s intestines are very different from the types found in adulthood. Bifidobacterium infantis and Bifidobacterium bifidum are the dominant and most important beneficial probiotic cultures found in healthy infants and children during their early years; this product contains both of these probiotics, in strains which have been tested for their benefits in supporting digestion, immunity and resistance to infection.

This supplement contains a third probiotic, Lactobacillus acidophilus Rosell-52, which has been clinically shown to survive stomach acidity and to reach the gut where it can support the overall digestive health of your child. The prebiotic, fructooligosaccharides (FOS), in For your child’s health helps maintain high levels of Bifidobacteria by acting as a food source for the probiotics to survive and flourish in the intestines.

At OptiBac Probiotics we appreciate the importance of using various probiotic strains – these three probiotics will target different areas of the gut as opposed to just one.

Sachets are enclosed in 3 layer laminated sachets for maximum protection against heat and humidity.

Directions
For your child’s health probiotic & prebiotic can easily be mixed with your child’s favourite cold foods or beverages. This OptiBac formula can be taken with formula milk when it is at room temperature, but not when warmed (as heat reduces the viability of probiotics.)

Take as following, or as professionally directed:

Infants from 6 to 12 months: one sachet per day.
Children 12 months and above: one to two sachets per day, as desired.
Pregnant and nursing mothers: one sachet per day.
Adults & children should ideally drink plenty of water during a course of probiotics.
Probiotics are best taken with a meal, preferably with breakfast.
Probiotics & prebiotics will not cause dependency, and can safely be taken on an ongoing basis.
Safety
It is not recommended to give probiotics to severely immunosuppressed patients, infants with short bowel syndrome (SBS), post cardiac surgery patients, patients with pancreatitis, patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or patients with blood in the stool unless under a doctor’s care.
