The primary aim of the workshops will be to provide a non-rigid forum where persons involved in creative writing may present their work ( or not present if they so wish) in an atmosphere of constructive encouragement.
Since creative writing is of its nature a solitary process the workshops would hope to provide occasional respite from this.
They will attempt to address topics of interest to the participants, and will also examine technical issues such as;
- Discovering the authentic voice.
- Different layers of exploration in fiction.
- “Style, voice, beauty, truth”; how these interact in creative writing.
- The relationship between voice and style.
- Publish or perish.
- Priming the imagination.
- Mining the depths.
